Multi-Unit Developments
If you’re looking to divide your land into two or more units, Interlink Homes also build multi-unit residential housing and commercial units. Key Things to Think about When You are Planning Your New Home Build
Building a new home is an exciting time and it can be easy to get carried away with wanting to include everything you could possibly think of in your new home. To make sure that your project doesn’t blow your budget or get out of hand, it is important to plan carefully. Things to think about include:
Budget and Financing
Think carefully about how much you have in your budget and where your finance will come from. If you will need to get a mortgage or other finance for your build, make sure you have this in place before you commit. When you work out your budget, make sure you include all those extra expenses, like whether you need to pay for rental accommodation while the build is going on and a contingency in case your building work costs more than you expect.
Lifestyle
When you are planning your home’s size and layout think about your lifestyle not only now but also in the immediate future. For example you may be a couple planning to start a family so you will want to plan a home that has plenty of space for children too.
Must-haves and Nice-to-haves
Building a new home is a great opportunity to get things set up for the future. If your budget will allow think about things like solar power and energy-efficient lighting, fibre for your internet, adequate wiring for appliances and audio-visual systems and home automation.
